With
unusual handmade baroque jewelry each stone is a unique, one of a
kind, gemstone with an infinite variety of combinations of color,
size, and formation, challenging the creative imagination of all of
us.
Baroque—the dictionary defines baroque as a French
word meaning “irregular in shape”. The Baroque stone, with which we
are concerned here, is a natural shaped stone, highly polished. It
has no regular or special shape, no perfect or flat sides and no
sharp angles. Some of the 17th century furniture was so named
because of its irregular shape; thus the word is used today as a
name for our tumbled polished gems. Jewelry made with these baroques
is called “baroque jewelry”.
Most of our Baroque jewelry is found by us, in local areas and
transformed from rough to gemstones, and then created into jewelry.
We use sterling silver and gold filled settings for our handcrafted
gemstone jewelry. Finding it, is great fun and then to create things
from it is very exhilarating and provides an exciting element to the
purchasing process—knowing where it was found, what it is and what
it represents. This adds a real personal approach to all purchases.
We will try, with each piece of jewelry, to tell you
what the stone is and what it represents, including its healing
properties and/or metaphysical properties, when appropriate.
Many of the pieces are made from various types of
Agates. Agates, like diamonds, are forever. They retain their beauty
indefinitely and can be passed down through generations. Their
infinite variety of color and pattern fit them to every occasion.
Agate is linked to the planet’s energy, and it is believed to be a
highly protective stone. Agates are considered powerful healing
stones. We also have a large selection of crystal gemstone jewelry.
